Dr. Nelly Silva holds a fellowship from the American Dental Implant Association and both places and restores implants in our office on Arcola Road, a short drive from Trappe.

Dr. Silva treated both patients: one full arch rebuilt on implants, and one smile restored after worn and missing teeth. Every result depends on the mouth it starts with.

BeforeAfterA dental implant is a titanium post set into the jawbone where a tooth root used to be. Once the bone fuses to it, the post can hold a crown, a bridge or a full set of teeth.
Many offices split that work between a surgeon and a general dentist. Dr. Silva is trained to do both, so the dentist who decides where your implant goes also shapes the tooth that sits on it.
Dr. Silva places the implant in our office, guided by a 3D scan of your jaw.
She designs and attaches the tooth once the implant has healed.
Dr. Michael Strassberg treats gum disease here, and bone grafts rebuild a thin jaw.
Most healthy adults missing one or more teeth can be considered for implants. What goes on top depends on how many teeth are gone and where they were.
A single implant and crown fill the space without filing down the teeth on either side.
Two implants can anchor a bridge across the whole gap.
A few implants let a denture snap in place for eating and lift out for cleaning.
Four to six implants hold a fixed arch, the All-on-X approach shown above.
Bone shrinks where a tooth has been missing for years. We place autogenous, allogenic and xenogenic bone grafts to rebuild the site, so a thin jaw does not automatically rule implants out.
Our Vatech CT scanner shows bone height, bone width and nerve position in 3D, so Dr. Silva can choose each implant's size, depth and angle in advance. The iTero Element scanner records your bite digitally for the final tooth.
Implants are placed under local anesthetic. The Wand delivers that numbing slowly and steadily, and conscious sedation is available for patients who feel anxious about dental work.
Healing takes most of the time. The visits themselves are few.
An exam, a 3D scan and a clear talk about your options, timing and cost.
An extraction, bone graft or gum treatment comes first when the site needs it.
Implants are typically placed in a single visit.
The bone fuses to the implant over about three to nine months. Dr. Silva can fit a temporary tooth for this stretch.
At a second appointment, Dr. Silva attaches your final crown, bridge or denture.

Dr. Silva earned her DMD at Temple University's Kornberg School of Dentistry, where she now teaches as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology, Medicine and Surgery. Her implant work runs from single teeth to full reconstruction. She asks patients to call her Nelly.

Dr. Michael Strassberg is skilled in all aspects of periodontics. When the gums around a future implant need care, he treats them in our office.
I went for a second opinion on implants, she studied the X-rays and was able to give me her opinion at that appt. Her demeanor was professional and friendly.

If you are like me and haven't seen a dentist in an embarrassing amount of time, they will treat you like a human being and make you comfortable.

There is no single price for an implant. The total depends on how many teeth you are replacing, what goes on top, and whether an extraction, bone graft or gum treatment comes first. After your exam and CT scan, we walk you through the cost of your plan before treatment begins.
We accept all PPO dental insurance plans and do not accept Medicaid.
Spread the cost of implant treatment over time rather than paying it all up front.
Patients without dental insurance can join our dental savings plan.
What patients from Trappe ask us most before choosing implants.
When the bone is healthy and free of infection, the implant can sometimes go in at the same visit as the extraction. More often the site heals for a few months first, with a bone graft to keep the bone from shrinking. Your CT scan shows which path fits.
Many PPO plans pay toward part of implant treatment, but coverage and yearly maximums vary by plan. We check your benefits so you know what your plan covers before you commit.
The design of the plan matters as much as payment plans. Treatment can be phased over time, and an implant-retained denture uses fewer implants than a fixed full arch. When more than one approach fits, we price each one.
The implant post cannot decay, and with daily brushing, flossing and regular cleanings it can serve for many years. The crown on top wears with chewing and may need replacing in time.
Our only office is at 399 Arcola Road in Collegeville, which shares the 19426 ZIP code with Trappe. Your scans, implant placement and final tooth all happen in that one building.
Come with your questions. You will leave knowing your options, your timeline and your cost, all from the dentist who would treat you.
