Dr. Nelly Silva, a Fellow of the American Dental Implant Association since 2012, plans each implant from a 3D CT scan and handles extractions, bone grafting and your final teeth in one Collegeville office.

Missing, broken and worn teeth replaced with a full arch of fixed teeth on dental implants, designed around this patient's bite and smile line.

A dental implant replaces the root as well as the tooth you see.
A small titanium post is placed in the jawbone, which bonds to it over the following months. A connector called an abutment then holds a crown, bridge or denture in place.
Because the post sits in bone, chewing pressure reaches the jaw as it did through a natural root, which helps the jaw keep its shape where a tooth is missing.
Most adults with healthy gums and enough jawbone qualify. When either is lacking, we treat it first in our own office.
Treatment usually runs over several months, most of it healing time rather than time in the chair.
Dr. Silva checks your teeth and gums and takes a 3D Vatech CT scan to measure bone height, width and nearby nerves.
If a tooth must come out or bone needs rebuilding, that is done here first and given time to heal.
Numbing is given slowly with The Wand, with conscious sedation if you prefer. The bone then bonds to the post over a few months.
An iTero Element scan replaces impression putty, and your crown, bridge or full arch is made to match your bite and smile.

Dr. Silva earned her DMD at Temple University's Kornberg School of Dentistry, where she is now a Clinical Associate Professor.
She received her American Dental Implant Association fellowship in 2012 and trained at the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies in aesthetic and neuromuscular dentistry, which shapes how implant teeth look and bite. She asks patients to call her Nelly.
"I went for a second opinion on implants, she studied the X-rays and was able to give me her opinion at that appt."

All three replace missing teeth. They differ in what holds them in place.
Fees depend on how many teeth are replaced, whether grafting is needed and what sits on the implants. We go over costs with you after the exam and CT scan, before any work starts.
We accept all PPO dental insurance plans and do not accept Medicaid. Patients without insurance can join our dental savings plan, and payment plans are available for larger treatment.
Common questions before implant treatment.
Implants take time. Between any extraction or grafting, healing and the final teeth, treatment usually runs over several months. Healthy gums and enough bone matter more than age, and implant teeth need the same brushing and checkups as natural teeth.
The main trade-off is more visits than a bridge or denture. Some patients also need grafting or gum treatment before an implant can go in, and we explain each step at your exam so the plan has no surprises.
Planning has changed more than the implant itself. A 3D CT scan lets us position each implant around your actual bone, and for a full arch, All-on-X teeth are fixed on a small number of implants.
Often, yes. We perform bone grafting in our office with autogenous, allogenic or xenogenic graft material chosen for the site. Once the graft heals, the implant has the support it needs.
Yes. Dr. Silva will review your X-rays and the plan you were given, then explain what she recommends. One patient wrote that she gave her opinion at that same appointment.
