About an hour in our chair, a starting and finishing shade on record, and a dentist with postgraduate aesthetic training choosing your shade, a short drive from Skippack.

Each pair shows the same patient's natural teeth before and after professional whitening with Dr. Silva. Where a shade tab appears in the photo, it marks the color we recorded at that stage.
Results vary with your starting shade and the type of stain.

Zoom! is an in-office whitening system. We apply a hydrogen peroxide whitening gel to the front of your teeth and position the Zoom! lamp over your smile to activate it. The peroxide breaks down stain molecules inside the enamel, so the color of the tooth itself lifts, which a polish or whitening toothpaste cannot do.
Because the gel is applied and watched by our team, it can be far stronger than a home kit. You can settle in with a pillow and blanket from our office while the gel works.
Zoom works on natural enamel that has picked up color from food, drink, tobacco or time. Your teeth and gums should be healthy first, so we treat any cavities or gum inflammation before whitening.
Daily drinks leave yellow and brown stain that sits in the enamel, the stain peroxide gel is made to break down.
Brown staining from smoking or chewing tobacco is a common reason patients choose an in-office treatment.
Teeth tend to look more yellow over the years. Whitening brightens the enamel you have without changing its shape.
A wedding, reunion or new job is easier to plan for when the change happens in a single visit.
We offer two professional whitening systems in one office. The choice follows your stains and your schedule, and Dr. Silva recommends one at your exam.
The whole treatment fits in one appointment at our Arcola Road office.
Dr. Silva checks your teeth and gums and records your starting shade. A cleaning first, when due, lets the gel reach clean enamel.
A retractor holds your lips back and a barrier covers the gumline, so the gel touches only tooth surfaces.
The gel goes on, the Zoom! lamp is positioned, and we repeat timed rounds while you rest.
We remove the gel and hold your new shade against the starting record.
Go easy on dark drinks and tobacco for the first two days. Take-home trays let you touch up later.

Dr. Silva earned her DMD at Temple University's Kornberg School of Dentistry and teaches there as a Clinical Associate Professor. She is also a graduate of the Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies, a postgraduate center for aesthetic and neuromuscular dentistry.
She sets your target shade against your gums, your skin tone and any crowns or veneers you have now or may want later. When gums need care before whitening, Dr. Michael Strassberg, who focuses on periodontics, treats them in the same office.
"They took great care of my teeth: the X-rays, cleaning, and whitening. She cares about you, along with your health."

Your fee depends on your starting shade, whether a cleaning or gum care comes first, and whether you add take-home trays. You get the exact cost at your consultation, before any whitening begins. We offer payment plans, and you can ask about our dental savings plan.

For natural teeth with yellow or brown staining, Zoom gives a visible change in a single visit, with gel stronger than anything sold for home use and a dentist protecting your gums. If your stains are gray or deep, we will tell you at the exam that a KöR plan is the better choice.
How long the shade holds depends mostly on habits. Coffee, tea, red wine and tobacco bring stain back sooner, while regular cleanings slow it down. Take-home trays let you touch up at home, and we check your shade at routine visits.
Zoom changes natural enamel only, so crowns, veneers and fillings keep their current color. Gray banding from tetracycline and some white or brown spots respond less to a single visit. Cavities and gum problems need treatment first, which can move your whitening date.
Our one office is at 399 Arcola Road in Collegeville, a short drive from Skippack. We are an independent office and are not affiliated with any other dental practice.
Usually, yes. New crowns, veneers and bonding are color-matched once and do not whiten afterward. Whitening first lets Dr. Silva match your new work to your brighter shade.
Start with an exam and shade check. You leave knowing whether Zoom or KöR fits your stains, the shade to aim for, and the cost. Patients come to us from Skippack and the nearby towns.
