Your Aftercare Steps

  1. Do Not Touch

Please avoid touching the areas of your gums that your hygienist has treated.

  2. Do Not Brush for 12 Hours

Wait 12 hours after your treatment with Arestin before brushing your teeth.

  3. Do Not Floss for 10 Days

Do not floss or use toothpicks or any other devices that clean between your teeth for 10 days.

  4. Avoid Hard, Crunchy or Sticky Foods

Skip hard, crunchy or sticky foods for 1 week after your Arestin treatment.

  5. Schedule Your Follow-Up

Bacteria that cause periodontal disease are persistent, and the infection can return. Please make follow-up appointments with our hygienist to keep your gums and teeth healthy.

  6. Keep Your Appointments

Keeping your hygiene appointments lets us re-examine your gums, make sure the infection is under control, and measure the success of your treatment.
