Implants Placed and Restored in Our Office

Two of our own patients: failing upper teeth replaced with a fixed All-on-X arch, and a worn, gapped smile rebuilt on implants. Every result depends on the mouth it starts with.

What Is an Implant Dentist in Blue Bell, PA

An implant dentist replaces missing teeth with dental implants. A small post is set in the jawbone where the root used to be. Once the bone has bonded to it, a crown, bridge or denture is attached on top.

Around Blue Bell, implant care is often split: one office places the post, then sends you back to a general dentist for the tooth. Here, the dentist who sees your bone during surgery also designs the tooth that sits on it.

Candidates

Who Benefits From Dental Implants

Most healthy adults with a missing or failing tooth are candidates. Your scan shows whether the site is ready now or needs groundwork first.

01

A Gap From a Lost Tooth

One implant and crown fill the space without reshaping the healthy teeth on either side.

02

A Cracked or Infected Tooth

When a tooth cannot be saved, we plan its removal and the implant as one treatment.

03

A Denture That Shifts

Implants give a full or partial denture something to grip, so it stays in place when you chew.

04

Most Teeth Failing

An All-on-X arch replaces a whole row of teeth on a few implants, as in the first case above.

05

Bone Loss Over the Years

The jaw shrinks after a tooth is lost. A bone graft can rebuild enough volume to hold a post.

06

Gum Disease

Infected gums are treated before placement, so the implant starts in healthy tissue.

Your Options

How an Implant Compares With a Bridge or Partial

A bridge or partial is quicker and needs no surgery. An implant takes months, but it is the only option that replaces the root as well as the tooth.

Held in place by
A post in the jawbone
Neighboring teeth
Left as they are
Bone under the gap
Supported by the post
Daily care
Brush and floss as usual
Treatment time
Several months, mostly healing

We provide all three, so we can recommend the one that fits your mouth rather than the one we happen to offer.

Dr. Michael Strassberg is skilled in all aspects of periodontics. If your gums need treatment before an implant, he provides it here, alongside your scans and records.

I went for a second opinion on implants, she studied the X-rays and was able to give me her opinion at that appt.

What to Expect

Five Stages From Exam to Finished Tooth

Plan on a few months in total, most of it healing time between visits at our Collegeville office.

  1. Visit one

    Exam and CT Scan

We check your teeth and gums, map the bone in 3D and talk through which replacement suits your mouth.

  2. If needed

    Groundwork

An extraction, bone graft or gum treatment prepares the site. Some of this can be done on placement day.

  3. Placement

    Setting the Post

Dr. Silva numbs the area with The Wand and places the implant. Conscious sedation is available if you feel anxious.

  4. About 3 to 6 months

    Bonding

The bone grows around the post and locks it in place. A temporary tooth often covers the gap meanwhile.

  5. Final visit

    Your Finished Tooth

We take an iTero digital impression, then fit the crown, bridge or denture and adjust your bite until it feels natural.

PPO Insurance

We accept all PPO dental insurance plans and help you see what yours covers. We do not accept Medicaid.

Payment Plans

Larger implant cases can be spread out with our payment plans.

Dental Savings Plan

No dental insurance? Our dental savings plan is open to uninsured patients.

FAQ

FAQ About an Implant Dentist in Blue Bell, PA

Questions Blue Bell patients ask before choosing who places their implant.

Do regular dentists do dental implants?

Some do. Many general dentists only restore implants that a surgeon has placed, while others complete added implant training and place them as well. Dr. Silva is in the second group, with a fellowship from the American Dental Implant Association.

How much are dental implants in PA?

Fees vary between Pennsylvania offices and from one mouth to the next, so a statewide figure is not a reliable guide. The number of implants, the restoration on top and any extraction or graft all change the total. We give you the cost of your own plan after your exam and 3D scan.

Is your office in Blue Bell?

No. Our only office is at 399 Arcola Road in Collegeville, and patients from Blue Bell come to us there. Every implant visit happens at that one address, so your records stay in one place.

Will I be awake when the implant is placed?

Most patients stay awake with local anesthetic, which we deliver with The Wand, a computer-controlled system that releases it slowly. If you feel anxious, conscious sedation is available.

Can I get an implant if I was told my bone is too thin?

Often, yes. Your 3D scan measures the bone, and we offer autogenous, allogenic and xenogenic grafts to rebuild a site that is too thin.

Can you review an implant plan from another office?

Yes. Dr. Silva examines you and studies your x-rays, then tells you whether she would recommend the same plan or a different one.
