Dr. Nelly Silva, a Fellow of the American Dental Implant Association, plans your implant on an in-office 3D CT scan and handles grafting, placement and your new teeth in one office.

These cases were treated with dental implants by Dr. Silva in our office. Every implant case starts with a 3D scan and a plan built around your bite, your bone and the smile you want.

Individual results vary. Faces are blurred to protect patient privacy.
A dental implant replaces the whole tooth, root included. A small titanium post goes into the jawbone, bonds with the bone over a few months and becomes a fixed foundation for the new tooth.
An implant dentist decides where each post goes, places it and builds the teeth on top. Many patients are sent between a surgeon and a restoring dentist for those steps. Here, Dr. Silva plans, places and restores your implants, so you deal with one team and one treatment plan from start to finish.
Implants suit most adults who have lost a tooth or are about to. Your health, smoking habits and bone volume all shape the plan, and we review each one at your consultation.
An implant fills the gap without reshaping the healthy teeth on either side, as a bridge would require.
Two implants can support a bridge that replaces several teeth in a row, with no clasps and nothing to take out.
All-on-X sets a full arch of fixed teeth on a few implants for patients who have lost most of their teeth.
Implants can anchor a denture so it stays in place while you eat, speak and laugh.
When a tooth has to come out, we plan the implant first and can preserve the socket with a bone graft at the extraction visit.
The jaw shrinks where teeth are missing. Bone grafting can rebuild the site so an implant has the support it needs.
Healthy gums matter as much as healthy bone. Dr. Michael Strassberg is skilled in all aspects of periodontics, and our laser and non-surgical gum treatments get the area ready before an implant goes in.
An implant is only as good as its position in the bone. We see your jaw in three dimensions before anything is placed, and we choose your comfort level together.
A cone beam scan in our office shows the height, width and density of your bone, along with the nerve canal and sinuses, so each implant is planned around them.
A handheld scanner records your teeth in 3D without trays of impression putty, for crowns and bridges made to your bite.
Local anesthetic is delivered by a computer-controlled system at a slow, steady rate, in place of a traditional syringe.
For full-mouth implant work, these tools relax and measure the jaw muscles so the new teeth meet in a comfortable bite. Dr. Silva trained in neuromuscular dentistry at LVI.
I went for a second opinion on implants, she studied the X-rays and was able to give me her opinion at that appt.

All three replace missing teeth. They differ in what holds them in place, what happens to the bone underneath and how they feel day to day.
Timelines depend on your bone, your health and how many teeth are replaced. This is how a typical case moves through our office.
We examine your teeth and gums, take a 3D scan and talk through your goals. You leave knowing your options, the order of treatment and the cost of your plan.
If a tooth must come out or the bone is thin, the extraction and bone graft come first. Gum disease is treated before any implant goes in.
With the area numbed, and conscious sedation if you want it, the post is placed in the bone. Expect some soreness for a few days.
Over the next few months the bone bonds to the implant. A temporary tooth or denture can keep your smile complete in the meantime.
We scan with the iTero, design the crown, bridge or full arch and adjust it to your bite.
Regular cleanings and exams keep the gum and bone around each implant healthy for the long run.

Periodontics. He cares for the gums and supporting bone that every implant depends on.

We accept all PPO dental insurance plans, and our dental savings plan and payment plans can help with the rest.
The area is fully numbed before we begin, and we deliver the numbing with The Wand rather than a traditional syringe. Conscious sedation is available if you feel anxious about dental work. Most patients describe some soreness for a few days afterward, which we help you manage.
Most cases take a few months from placement to the final tooth, because the bone needs time to bond with the implant. If you need an extraction or bone graft first, healing time for that step is added. We map out your timeline at the consultation so there are no surprises.
Often, yes. Bone grafting can rebuild the bone an implant needs, and we offer xenogenic, allogenic and autogenous grafts in our office. Gum disease needs to be treated first, and our periodontal care, including laser therapy, gets your gums ready for an implant.
Yes. A full arch of teeth can be supported on a small number of implants, often called All-on-X, and Dr. Silva performs this restoration in our office. It can also stabilize a loose denture so it no longer slips when you eat or speak.
Brush and floss around an implant as you would a natural tooth, and keep your regular cleanings and exams. An implant cannot decay, but the gum and bone around it can become inflamed without good care. We check your implants at each visit.
Yes. Bring your X-rays or treatment plan, and Dr. Silva will review them with you and explain her view at the same visit. A second look is a good idea before any major treatment, and we are happy to provide one for Royersford patients.
