What to Expect at Your First Visit

Your first visit covers your whole mouth, not only the tooth that brought you in.

  1. Exam

A tooth-by-tooth exam, a bite assessment and an oral cancer screening.

  2. Imaging

Digital x-rays as needed. When we need a closer look, our CT scanner shows teeth, roots and jaw in 3D.

  3. Cleaning

Your hygienist cleans and polishes. Our Preventative Plaque Control Training Program coaches the home care that keeps gum disease away.

  4. Plan

We show you what we found and rank your options. Most patients then return every six months.

FAQ

Royersford Dental Questions, Answered

Is your dental office in Royersford?

No. Our only office is at 399 Arcola Road in Collegeville, a short drive from Royersford. We are an independent office with no other locations, so you see the same team at every visit.

Do you see children and teens?

Yes. We offer pediatric dentistry with fluoride, sealants, sports guards and habit appliances. Sedation dentistry for children is available for young patients who need help staying calm.

What is the dentist 2 year rule?

The phrase is used in different ways online. Most often it means a patient who has not been seen in about two years is treated as a new patient again, with a full exam and fresh x-rays. However long it has been, we start with a full exam and a plan, without judgment.

How much does it cost to remove a tooth?

It depends on the tooth. A visible tooth is a simpler visit than an impacted wisdom tooth that needs surgery, and your insurance changes the total. We take x-rays first and give you the cost before we begin.

What is the best time for a dental appointment?

The best time is one you will keep, since regular visits matter more than the hour. Many nervous patients prefer an early appointment, so there is less time to worry beforehand. Young children often do better when they are rested.

What if I have a broken tooth or a toothache?

Reach out as soon as it happens and tell us it is urgent. Recent patients with a broken tooth have been seen the same day they called. Until then, rinse with warm water, save any broken pieces and chew on the other side.
