Whitening Results From Our Own Patients

Every case here was photographed in our office, before and after whitening with Dr. Silva. In several of them a shade tab sits beside the teeth, the same reference we use to record where you start and where you finish.

How It Works

What Is Zoom Teeth Whitening in Philadelphia, PA?

Zoom!® is an in-office whitening system. We apply a hydrogen peroxide whitening gel to the front surfaces of your teeth, and the Zoom light activates it in timed cycles while you rest in the chair.

Because our team runs every step, we control how long the gel stays on, protect your gums from it and check the shade between cycles. You leave with the result the same day rather than building it up over weeks at home.

Take-home trays still have a place for touch-ups after Zoom, and we can talk through that at your visit.

Candidates

Who Zoom Whitening Suits

Zoom works on natural enamel that has darkened from everyday life. A short exam first tells us whether it is the right tool for your smile.

A Good Fit If You Have

  • Yellow or brown staining from coffee, tea, red wine or tobacco
  • Teeth that have gradually darkened with age
  • An event coming up, such as a wedding or photos, and want the change in one visit
  • Healthy teeth and gums, or treatment already finished

When We Plan Something First

  • Cavities are filled before whitening so the gel only meets sound enamel
  • Bleeding or swollen gums are treated first, and our office provides periodontal care in house
  • Visible crowns, veneers or bonding on front teeth keep their color, so we map out how they will blend
  • Gray staining from inside the tooth may call for a different cosmetic option, which we explain at the exam
What to Expect

Our Zoom Whitening Process

Your visit follows the same four steps every time, so you know what is happening and why.

  1. 01

    Exam and Starting Shade

We check your teeth and gums, note any crowns or fillings and record your starting shade with a shade guide.

  2. 02

    Protecting Your Gums

Your lips and gums are covered with a protective barrier so the whitening gel only touches enamel.

  3. 03

    Whitening Cycles

The gel goes on and the Zoom light is positioned. We repeat timed cycles and check progress between them.

  4. 04

    Final Shade and Aftercare

We compare your new shade with your starting one and walk you through how to keep it.

Questions

FAQ About Zoom Teeth Whitening in Philadelphia, PA

Answers to what patients ask us most before their first Zoom visit.

How long does a Zoom whitening appointment take?

Plan for about an hour in the chair. That covers protecting your gums, the timed whitening cycles under the Zoom light and a final shade check. Your result is visible before you leave.

How long do Zoom whitening results last?

It depends mostly on habits. Coffee, tea, red wine and tobacco gradually restain enamel, while regular cleanings and good home care help the shade hold. At your visit we talk through touch-up options that fit how you eat and drink.

How white will my teeth get with Zoom?

That depends on your starting shade and the kind of staining. Yellow and brown stains from food, drinks and age usually respond well, while gray staining from inside the tooth responds less. We record your starting shade and compare it with your finished shade at the end of the visit.

Will Zoom whiten my crowns, veneers or fillings?

No. Whitening gel works on natural enamel, so crowns, veneers, bonding and fillings keep their current color. If you are planning new front restorations, whitening first lets us match them to your brighter shade.

What should I avoid after Zoom whitening?

For the first 48 hours, skip strongly colored foods and drinks such as coffee, tea, red wine, berries and tomato sauce, and avoid tobacco. Teeth pick up stain most easily right after whitening. We give you written aftercare before you go home.
