Whiter teeth in one appointment with Dr. Nelly Silva, a dentist trained in aesthetic dentistry at the Las Vegas Institute, a short drive up Route 422 from King of Prussia.

Each case is a patient of Dr. Silva, photographed in our office, several with a shade tab beside the teeth to show how far the color moved.

AfterZoom! is an in-office whitening system made by Philips. A hydrogen peroxide gel goes onto the front of your teeth, and the Zoom! light is placed over your smile to speed up how the gel breaks apart stain that has settled into the enamel.
A cleaning polishes the surface of a tooth. Whitening changes the shade of the tooth itself, and because our team applies and times the gel, it can be stronger than anything sold for home use.
"They took great care of my teeth: the X-rays, cleaning, and whitening."
Liz, Google ReviewZoom! lightens natural enamel. Before we recommend it, we look at what caused your color and what is already in your mouth.
Daily coffee, tea and red wine leave the yellow-brown tint whitening handles most predictably.
Enamel picks up a deeper yellow with age. This is the change patients most often want reversed.
Tobacco stain usually lightens, though it tends to come back faster while the habit continues.
Deep gray stain, such as tetracycline banding, responds poorly to light-activated gel. We often suggest KöR instead.
Porcelain and bonding keep their color. We plan around any restoration that shows in your smile.
If cold already bothers you, tell us. We may adjust the rounds or suggest a gentler take-home option.
You leave the same day with your new shade compared against where you started.
We check for decay and gum inflammation, ask what you want changed and record your starting shade.
A barrier covers your gums and lips so the gel only touches the tooth surfaces being whitened.
The gel goes on in timed rounds under the Zoom! lamp while you rest in the chair.
We hold a shade tab against your teeth again and walk you through keeping the result.
"Dr. Nelly put me at ease."
Kristen K., Google ReviewWe offer more than one professional system, so we match the method to your stain and your calendar.
Dr. Silva examines every smile herself before any whitening gel is placed.

Your fee is confirmed after your exam, because the right system depends on your stain and any restorations that need matching.

What patients ask us before their first whitening visit.
A hydrogen peroxide gel is painted onto the front of your teeth after your lips and gums are covered. The Zoom! light sits over your smile and speeds up how the gel breaks apart stain held in the enamel. The gel goes on in several short rounds during a single appointment.
In-office Zoom! gel is never left on, because our team times and removes each round in the chair. With take-home trays, wear time depends on the gel's strength, and only some gels are made for overnight wear. Wearing trays longer than directed does not whiten faster, so follow the time we give you.
No single system is better for every smile. Zoom! is the quickest way to lift yellow and drink stain in one visit, while KöR is often the stronger choice for deep gray stain such as tetracycline banding. We look at your stain first and recommend the system that fits it.
Whitening done or supervised by a dentist, with gel strength matched to your stain, works most reliably. For many patients that means an in-office Zoom! visit, then custom trays for touch-ups. Store strips use weaker gel and do not fit every tooth evenly.
No. Whitening gel changes natural enamel only, so restorations keep the shade they were made in. If a crown or veneer shows when you smile, we whiten first and then talk about matching it to your new shade.
It depends on your habits. Coffee, tea, red wine and tobacco bring color back sooner, while regular cleanings and take-home touch-ups help the shade hold much longer.
