Do you fib to your dentist about how often you floss? We can tell who’s telling the little white lie and who’s REALLY not flossing their teeth.
You should be flossing at least once a day. But, are you aware of the proper way to floss your teeth? We’re happy to explain the best way to floss your teeth!
Start by breaking of close to 20 inches of floss and wind most of it around one of your middle fingers. The rest should be wound around the same finger on your opposite hand. Next, hold the floss tightly between your thumbs and forefingers. Guide the floss between your teeth with a gentle rubbing motion. Be sure to NEVER snap the floss into your gums. Once the floss has reached your gum line, curve it into a “c” shape against one of your teeth. This is where you’ll gently slide it into the space between the gum and your tooth. Still holding the floss firmly, rub it on the side of the tooth, moving the floss away. Repeat these steps for the rest of your teeth!
After you finish flossing, throw away your piece of floss. Click here for more information about flossing.
