The holiday season is upon us and you know with holidays come all kinds of delicious foods and drinks! It’s perfectly okay to enjoy these yummy things all while taking extra good care of your oral health!
Check out these tips for proper care of your teeth and gums this holiday season!
- Be mindful of the sugary foods you’re eating – grandma’s cookies and cakes have quite a bit of sugar in them. We don’t believe you’re going to stay away from them, just be sure to brush and floss after eating your sweets!
- Don’t stray away from your routine – you still have to brush and floss on Christmas morning before opening gifts! Keep your routine and your mouth will thank you,
- You can eat great food and still take proper care of your teeth – cheese and cranberries are good for your teeth in moderation. However, cranberries have a lot of acid which can also eat away at your teeth. Moderation and good brushing habits are key!
- Teeth are meant to smile and chew – using your teeth for things other than what they’re meant for can have serious consequences. You can chip your teeth or even pull teeth out by the root (ouch!). Trying to open a bottle or package? Use a bottle opener or scissors and save your teeth!
